Visiting the Nature Reserves
Nestling in the heart of the Scottish Highlands and within easy reach of popular destinations such as Fort William, Oban, Skye and Inverness, our nature reserves are easy to find and a pleasure to visit.
The Glencoe Wood Nature Reserve, near Duror, has a visitor's centre and offers a ‘meet and greet service' for Lords and Ladies.
All other nature reserves are more wild and remote. Whilst they do not have a visitor centre or guided tour on offer, some of the views are simply stunning! Please do bear in mind that the terrain at the other reserves can be challenging.
The Kilnaish Estate has obtained SSSI and SAC (Special Area of Conservation) status, and is a mixture of amenity woodland and hill ground. The estate features the Cnoc a Bharra Leathain hill with stunning views towards the Isle of Gigha and an attractive 2 acre lochan known as Loch Cill An Aonghais, which is known as a key palynological site.
If you buy a souvenir plot, it will be located at The Kilnaish Estate.
Glen Nant is a very different project to our other nature reserves. Whilst the reserves at Duror, Mountainview and Kilnaish have scope for long term rewilding projects, the land at Glen Nant is untouched ancient oak woodland and we simply aim to protect it and keep it that way.
Tulloch Reach is around 20 acres of woodland and more than 1 mile of river frontage in the Spean valley, and the entire site is designated a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The company started selling souvenir plots of land from the family farm at Tulloch, near Roy Bridge, in 2006. No plots have been sold from this location since 2006, but Tulloch Reach remains under the management of the company.
